Role, Responsibility and Liability of Independent Directors
As part of CII’s 14th Corporate Governance Summit, Anjali Bansal was be part of the panel on “Role, Responsibility and Liability of Independent Directors”.The other panelists included Jagdish Capoor (Independent and Non-Executive Chairman, Manappuram Finance Limited), Adil Zainulbhai (Chairman, Quality Council of India(QCI)) and Ashish Chauhan (MD & CEO, BSE Limited).
Anjali serves as an independent non-executive director on several leading boards including TATA Power, Delhivery, Kotak AMC, and Piramal Enterprises Limited.
Avaana Invests in Farmart
FarMart is India’s first micro-SaaS agriculture platform for agri-retailers to manage operations and increase engagement with farmers. Through Farmart’s market linkage platform, agri-retailers can aggregate supply of high quality commodities from their farmers, who will benefit from better realisation, easy access to markets, lower intermediary margins, and relevant advisory services. As a result, Farmart will help both agri-retailers and farmers to increase their incomes.

Unlocking the Potential of the Gig Economy in India, BCG
Michael and Susan Dell Foundation along with BCG’s new report on ‘Unlocking the Potential of the Gig Economy in India‘ sheds light on the 8 distinct segments of gig workers – their priorities, work preferences and trade-offs. Avaana Capital was one of the collaborators for the report. The report launch hosted Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog for the keynote address. Anjali Bansal joined the panel discussion of experts and distinguished industry that included Abhiraj Singh Bhal (Urban Company ), Darshan Hiranandani (Hiranandani Group), Kanika Sanghi, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Rahil Rangwala, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation India, LLP.
ACT Grants
Avaana Capital has signed the pact to ACT – a social change movement for the startup ecosystem in India, enabling changemakers to give their time, talent and resource to mobilize solutions that address societal problems at scale. ACT started as a response to fight COVID-19 and has now expanded its mandate to cover healthcare, education, environment, and women’s participation in workforce. Anjali Bansal anchors the ACT for Women initiative.
Avaana Capital was also part of ACT Summit, a virtual event which that brought together India’s leading startup founders, venture capitalists, and changemakers to talk about how we can leverage India’s inventive startup assets and ideas to enable social change at scale. Anjali Bansal was one of the panelists for the session on “Encouraging business practices that empower women”.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2021, Anjali Bansal was the keynote speaker at IIT Bombay’s Celebration of Women in Entrepreneurship. The session covered Anjali’s career, her initiatives with Niti Aayog, Women on Corporate Boards.
Road to Recovery: Helping people in India get back to work
Speed, sustainability, and collaboration. These were essential elements of our COVID19 relief efforts with partners to support small businesses, microentrepreneurs, and gig workers in India — and they continue to guide our work. The collaborative Road to Recovery fund with Michael and Susan Dell Foundation reached five million people with more than ₹573 crore.
